Baby Jasmine's Baptism- Annapolis, MD

Yesterday was my cousin's baby's baptism!  It's been such a surreal experience seeing this kid that I grew up with now a father!  It was such a beautiful occasion and the priest let all of the family and friends up on the altar so we could all take a part in the ceremony.  It was also amazing to have all of our family together for a good occasion for once, this past year has been tough for us with a lot of illnesses and losses.  Although, we have grieved the loss of some, yesterday we were able to celebrate the young life of the next generation of our family.  Thank you Artiss and Ann for allowing us all to be a part of this special occasion.

This was a beautiful church, and I loved this crucifix.

This was behind the altar

Taylor/Wade Family Session

Hi everyone and Happy 2012!
This is my first blog post for 2012 and its a great one.  I had the opportunity to photograph my friend Holly and her family.  Their mothers 60th birthday is coming up and they wanted to give her something special.  We had such a great time and laughed a lot.  And thanks to this mild winter so far, we were able to take some shots outside.  Enjoy these photos and again... Happy New Year!

 *So beautiful Holly!
*So he totally might kill me for posting this one, but I got this shot when he didnt think I was shooting.  This is actually one of my favorite shots of the day!

Photo Contest- Best Face Photo of 2011

This week over at I heart faces, to celebrate their 3rd anniversary, they are asking for your best face photo of 2011.  I'm picking a photo from Stephen and Krystina's session a couple months ago.  Its one of my favorite shoots of all time and have been waiting to enter it into a contest.  I love this shot, Krystina looks flawless and so natural and I love the way the golden light of the sunset is hitting her so perfectly.

Skeete Family Session- Manassas, VA Family Photographer

Kitara and I go WAY back and I mean WAY back.  Kitara was my tour guide when I had my first orientation at Longwood College.  So, in a way, she was the first person I met in college.  We were also in several organizations together.  Now, we've grown up and moved on and now has a loving husband and two beautiful children.  I believe, when I saw her yesterday, it was the first time since college graduation that we'd seen each other.  But thanks to social networking, we've been able to keep in touch.  I was so thrilled to take her family photos.  They were good sports as it was pretty cold outside yesterday.  We would duck into stores to warm up in between shots.  I hope the Skeete family loves these photos and I hope you, my faithful blog readers do as well.

 *What a beautiful family!

 *Stop the cuteness!

*I think this is my favorite family shot of the day.
 *OMG... look at those eyes!

Stephen and Krystina- Just Because Session- Manassas, VA Photographer

Stephen and I used to go to church together and have known each other for about a year and a half.  He's been overseas for a few months and was able to come home for a couple of weeks.  He contacted me a few weeks ago and asked me about taking photos of him and his lady.  We met up at the Manassas Battlefield on a beautiful Sunday.  We couldn't have asked for better weather (well it did get chillier as the sun set) or better light.  Krystina and Stephen are absolutely precious together and it was amazing to see them so happy! I actually had a REALLY hard time narrowing down my favorites to put on the blog, because there were so many.  I'm so glad I got to capture some very precious moments today and I hope they will be able to cherish them for years to come.
