Should I eat these??

So for all my faithful blog readers in Northern VA, you probably heard on the news about all the people eating wild mushrooms or 'shrooms as I like to call them!
Seriously... one man was quoted as saying... "I just wanted fresh stir fry!"  Are you serious sir?  The one thing my parents always told me was "Don't eat the mushrooms in the backyard!"  How did these people miss that lifetime memo?
And another thing?  These aren't even close to looking appetizing!!  So what about these scream FRESH PRODUCE??? Nothing in my oh so humble opinion!

So what should we all learn from this?  Buy your produce from the store, unless you live on a farm... or... you want to become critically ill!

Photo Challenge- People's Choice

So one of the goals I have set forth for myself to become a better photographer is to enter the weekly photo challenges over at iheartfaces.  This week, it's the People's Choice!  We can enter our favorite photo from the summer that features a human face.  I've decided to enter a photo that I've gotten a lot of compliments on.  It's the photo of the nun at the winery.
I think this is just a fun summer photo and I love the colors and the composition!  Happy Monday everyone!

Titus Family Session- Northern Virginia Photographer

I had the pleasure of working with Sherie last year and I was thrilled when she contacted me to take her family photos.  We've had this in the works for a while and I was excited when today finally rolled around.  The plan was to have a full session with her, her husband and beautiful daughter.  Well, as plans go, her daughter was very tired and just wasn't having the whole having her picture taken thing today, so we had to cut short, but I think the photos we got are gorgeous!  We have a continuation date on the calendar and I know the foliage will be in full force by then!  So enjoy a few photos from today and stay tuned for more in the next few weeks!

Photo Challenge- A Touch of Sun

I'm entering a photo challenge this week over at iheartfaces.

It's a challenge for A Touch of Sun.  I absolutely LOVE this photo of Todd and Ava because of the sun peeking through, it made for very cool lighting!  I told them it reminded me of an Estee Lauder ad!

Northern Virginia Family Photo Session- Brothers, Sisters and Cousins

Today was a new challenge for me... I had to photograph more than one child at a time.  And that wasn't the only challenge... they were also all dressed in REDSKINS gear... and we all know how they are my most FAVORITE team in the league  ;)  (Go Steelers BTW)  I think for the range in ages, these photos came out pretty good.  I hope the family enjoys them too.

The pond was full of lily pads and I loved that...

Siblings... love the look on the little boys face... he was working it!
Their auntie wanted a nice picture with all of her nieces and nephews.  She's a redskins fan too... GAH!  :)
I absolutely heart this photo... he looks like he's running for his life!
Sisters... wish we could have gotten all the kids out on that fallen tree, but I'm glad we got at least the two oldest girls out there.  It made for a gorgeous picture!

Ava and Todd- Married

I worked all day getting these photos edited for Ava and Todd.  I wanted them to be able to see them before their honeymoon.  It was a beautiful ceremony and I want to thank Todd and Ava for letting me be such a big part of their special day.  I hope you love these photos...

I had a little fun with photoshop...
She was so patient getting her hair done...

Getting ready to toss the bouquet...
Ooops... bouquet ended up in the balcony!
 Take 2... SUCCESS!
Not as many guys for the garter toss... why is that?

Todd decided to take matters into his own hands...
 Loved all the Greek dancing...
